We begin to think we are the cause, blame ourselves for something imaginary we ought to have done. We think of the stigma, the lack of facilities and all the negativities we can think of. Our first inclination is to hide the diagnosis \u00a0and the child from the world rather than do the opposite.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>What You Need to do<\/strong>..<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>Understand that you are not to blame. The cause of autism is still unknown and no case is the same<\/li>\n<li>Seek information. Ask your doctor questions. Search the internet. Get books to read.<\/li>\n<li>Begin to study your child&#8217;s reaction to his\/her surroundings. This will help you to understand what calms and upset him\/her. What his\/her strengths and weaknesses are.<\/li>\n<li>Educate those around you about Autism. It is through education and understanding that we can overcome stigmatization.<\/li>\n<li>Have a support network. You can do it all alone. Your child needs you healthy and strong.<\/li>\n<li>Document everything. It helps to keep a diary of your child&#8217;s activities. This will help you to advocate for your child. Remember, your child&#8217;s needs differ from the other.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Autism is dynamic. It is not a death sentence. It is manageable with the right information. Your Child can be the genius the world needs.
