Lagos State Principals Cup Season 5 – Meet the Quarter Finalists

The Quarter final matches which took place on the 6th and 7th of May 2014 was a passionate two days of skillful football.

On Day 1 Four matches took place at 2 venues. Olusosun Primary School, Ojota and Ansar Ud Deen College, Isolo.

Olusosun Primary School hosted the female match between Alakoto Senior Secondary School and Oriwu Senior Model College. Alakoto Senior Secondary School failed to score a goal with a 0 – 2 win to Oriwu Senior Model College. Later in the day the male match between Mainland Senior High and Aud Senior Grammar School Imota saw a 1 – 2 win to Aud Senior Grammar School.

The 2nd Venue Ansar Ud Deen College, Isolo hosted the match between Ikotun Senior High School and Ilupeju Senior Secondary Schools. The Ilupeju Senior School girls pushed hard for a win but unfortunately Ikotun Senior High thrashed them 6 – 0 in a grueling match.

Finally, Day 1 ended with the male match between Methodist Senior Badagry and Gaskiya College. The game was a tough one with a 0 – 0 draw that took them to penalties. Methodist Senior Badagry secured their space in the Semi Finals with a 3 – 1 win at penalties.

Day 2 was just as exciting with another two matches taking place at Dairy Farm Senior Secondary School Agege and  two matches at St. Gregory’s College, Ikoyi.

The Government Senior College Agege gave the Akande Dahunsi Girls a run for their money with a 8 – 0 win to Government Senior College. The Male match took place immediately afterwards between Ikotun Senior Grammar School and Oriwu Senior Model College. The Oriwu Senior boys secured their place in the Semi Finals with a 1 – 0 win.

The 2nd venue for Day 2 was St. Gregory’s College. The CMS girls and Government College Ajara girls took to the field first, with a head to head match. This time the CMS girls won with a 2 – 1 lead.

Last but not least the Keke High School and Dairy Farm School boys battled for a place in the Semi Finals. Both teams worked hard but went to penalties after a 1 -1 draw at full time. The penalty shoot out was heated but there can only be one winner. The Dairy Farm team took this one home and knocked the Principals Cup Season 4 Champions out of the tournament with a    6 – 5 win at penalties and will be going to the Semi Finals.
